About Me
My Back Story

I grew up in the sleepy suburban outskirts of L.A. and discovered dance at a very young age.  By my late teenage years, I was fully sucked into a whirlwind of 3 to 10pm dance classes, each and every day, after school. Since graduating from the San Francisco Ballet School, I've been a member of many dance companies, and also have become a personal trainer, specializing in weight management, rehabilitation and cardiovascular conditioning.

In my spare time, I LOVE cooking, although I admit it's like having the Tasmanian Devil tornado through the kitchen! My days are usually filled with me running around, never doing any one activity for very long, and at the end of the day crashing on my bed, already asleep.

My Relationship With Dance

Growing up, I wasn't a particularly sporty or athletic kid, and I was incredibly shy! Dance allowed me to open up and gain confidence. It was a mirror that revealed my potential, allowing me to challenging myself with each step (no pun intended!).

Things I Can't Live Without
  • Taiko, our siamese-cat-who-doubles-as-a-noisy-midnight-opera-singer
  • Popcicles (my biggest guilty pleasure)
  • Messing up in dance class (if you can't laugh at yourself, you won't get very far...it's the best part of the process!)
  • Choreographing / making music mixes
  • The feeling of finally crashing into your bed after a long day…zzzzz
  • My hardworking students (maybe you?!), who give me incredible inspiration
  • More popcicles (not kidding… it's terrible!)
