I grew up on a farm in west central Illinois, in a town of 600 people. With no neighbors, my family was my social network (imagine the grief if I rejected THEIR "friend request"!). My childhood was filled with clean air, fresh vegetables, and plenty of places to run, hide and play. My most vivid memories are of my family: planting the garden together, enjoying picnics in the field where my dad worked, riding bikes with my siblings to our grandparent’s house.
I've always been very active. Growing up I practiced backbends and headstands with my sister all over the living room floor. I danced from an early age, and it has always been a part of my life!
To me, yoga has never just been about “working out.” Yoga has always been my practice, and never boring old exercise, which means I don't have to force myself to make time for it. It's the foundation that makes me strong, healthy, open, and the best version of myself.
